I had a very hard time deciding on which of John's work to purchase first. "Yo Rock!" was the first one I truly knew I had to buy. While I love Sly/Rocky over all eras, this is probably my favorite Rocky/Sly look. Rocky (especially from the first film) is a great example of not judging a book by its cover. Rocky looks imposing and potentially mean in his black leather and solemn look. However underneath that tough facade, is a sweet and caring man who only wants to be accepted and loved (like we all do). John captured this look and Rocky's expression so perfectly here. The detail in Rocky's face is phenomenal, I can't really describe it. I watched a video of John talking about this painting and how its very popular with the ladies, and I see why. And I agree with what was said...its those eyes. This might be my favorite thing I own.
