J'imaginais que nous étions en 1976 et qu'on vient de me demander de créer l'affiche officielle du film ROCKY. Que fais-je?

Je vais droit au cœur de l'histoire – la veille du grand combat – lorsque Rocky visite le ring et se rend compte qu'il n'a aucune chance de vaincre Apollo Creed. C'est à ce moment que Rocky change d'avis de son "envie" de gagner le combat, à son "besoin" de tenir la distance et de prouver qu'il n'est pas un clochard.

Ma peinture originale SEUL DANS LE RING capture ce moment - un moment qui résonne avec nous tous. Ici, je le réimagine comme l'affiche officielle du film ROCKY. L'imagerie puissante est complète avec la citation de Rocky en bas, nous disant exactement ce qu'il a l'intention de réaliser.

Alone in the ring

This piece brings Rocky's whole life into perspective. The night before the fight, full of so many emotions. A nobody from Philadelphia, gets to go toe to toe with the champion of the world, Appollo Creed. All he wanted to do, is go where no man has gone before, the distance. If he can make it to the end of the fight, and he's still standing, he's gonna prove to himself for the first time in his life, that he wasn't just another bum from the neighborhood.
