I set out to complete the story of my RESURRECTION piece with this moment from ROCKY II. It is here where Rocky rises up and fulfills his destiny as “The Chosen One” from the opening scene of ROCKY. With one second left on the clock and against all odds, Rocky gets up and wins the heavyweight championship of the world, as Adrian looks on smiling.
I place a direct and heavenly light, shining upon Rocky as he rises to his feet. The referee stands symbolically in a crucifix pose.
